REA JOSEPHINE
JOINT FIRST PRIZE
A classic portrait, both in pose and in the search of identity of the subject, and at the same time strictly contemporary. This is the stylistic choice of Rea Josephine (born in London in 1983).
From 2004 to 2009 she studied at The Charles H. Cecil Studios in Florence.
She also studied at Central St Martins College of Art and Design.
A portrait is not a simple exercise in verisimilitude, but it reflects, or rather, it lets the space
and the painting technique to constrain the viewer to be in the condition of thinking.
It is the same that guides him, driven by the force of the brush strokes and by
the suggestions that reveals both a rarefied but material paint.
She lives and works in Berks (UK).
